I used these with the outdoor education program at a residential camp last year and all of the kids LOVED it, even the ones who were otherwise nervous about nature. Appealed to all kids ages 6-13. We will do this every year from now on!

Butterflies inClassroom Kits Date: June 11, 2009
We used this kit with our 2nd graders.
They enjoyed it and had lots of fun.
I recommend this kit to use with the life cycle unit.
The larvae was easy to handle. They end up eating the tissue paper and the chrysalis attached directly to the lid of the cup. So we just carefully took the chrysalis off the lid and taped the chrysalis with scotch tape to a new tissue.
Then we taped them to the sanctuary.
It worked and we got lots of butterflies.
